I have been commissioned to create a custom live edge wood frame for a client that purchased a beautiful Persian rug during her travels and wants to display it on her wall. I built a Walnut resin river table for this family last year.
She brought the rug by my woodshop at the sawmill and we picked out some amazing figured urban lumber Acacia with ribbon like woodgrain for the frame. It will be getting 1/4" glass with a backing matte board for the fringe of the rug to tuck into a reverse face cut 45. so it stays flat when on display. This is the largest frame I've made other than a king bed.
