I found this amazing piece at a local sawmill which they got in trade for a different slab - it was assumed to be CA Redwood Burl and was preserved with wax so it had no smell. After working with it I noticed instantly powerful scents of licorice, cinnamon, and cloves. After consulting a woodworker friend, I discovered its actually Camphor Burl from Laos rather than CA Redwood.
I created this cantilever table in a modern silhouette allowing the woodgrain flash to tell its story.
