I created this very special wood bedroom set for my clients home at Sedona Ranch.  The headboard is the statement piece created from a old growth California Redwood lace burl slab. The bedframe and floating nightstand are both made to compliment featuring Walnut to match their hardwood floor, and Redwood burl front to coordinate with headboard.
 
The bedframe was created to fit the exact specs requested by the client to fit their custom matress and made from wide-plank Walnut & Padauk in a shadow box style king bedframe. Padauk was used for the lower frame materials because it reflects more vibrant red in shadow, matching the redwood but remaining an accent instead of getting lost in shadow,  and hardness/durability makes it dent and scratch resistant if its kicked/bumped with shoes.
 
I utilized Festool mechanical dominos to fasten each side of the bed frame together.
 
I also created custom float mount nightstands from Walnut with Redwood burl live edge drawer front.
